Catherine Anne
Catherine Anne O'Hara, OC was born March 4 1954. She is a comedian actor, writer, and actress. O'Hara has won numerous distinctions that include the Genie Award, a Golden Globe Award as well as two Screen Actors Guild Awards, two Primetime Emmy Awards, and six Canadian Screen Awards. She was made an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2018 and was honored with the Governor General's Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement Award in 2020. She first came to the attention of an actress in 1974 when she was an actor in The Second City improvisational comedy troupe in Toronto. Along with John Candy (1975-1978), she was part of the primary cast of the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978). O'Hara was a part of Candy in the sketch comedy series Second City Television (1976-1984). The show received the attention of critics both for her acting and writing skills and was awarded an Primetime Emmy Award, 1981 for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series. O'Hara, Steve Carell and Dwayne Colbert were added to the Second City artistic board in 2022.
